Platts Market Data - Platts has been supplying Market Data for over 100 years almost as a by-product of their main function of supplying price information. It was their intention to package this information as a product in it's own right and sell it to existing and prospective clients. We created a positioning strategy and designed a look and feel for collateral, digital and press advertising.
My thinking behind the design was to reflect Platts' 100 year plus history as one of the leading providers of commodity data. However, it was important to demonstrate this feature as a benefit and express it as delivering a competitive advantage.

Platts Market Engage - Platts Oil Events are central to their strategy to 'explain, develop and connect' the oil markets through an ongoing programme of conferences, summits and webinars in locations around the world. Platts wanted a positioning that expressed this strategy. Brand Culture created the strategy of 'Exchanging value in the oil markets' and I designed the visual expression of this positioning. The liquid swirl represents the oil markets. In each execution (specially commisioned for this campaign) Platts is represented by their corporate green and the market is represented by a colour. 'Value exchange' is shown by the blending and mixing of these colours.

Platts Commodity Week - An anual event where experts discuss the global events shaping the price of commodities. Platts covers 13 commodities - each represented by it's own colour in their corporate identity so I created a logo that represented the commodities as well as giving Commodity Week it's own identity. The inspiration for the logo came from 'containerisation' - the method by wich commodities are transported around the world.

Platts cFlow - Tracks the passage of ships carrying commodities. For Platts clients dealing in those commodities it is an essential tool for determing commodity prices. Our task was to design a Brand Identity that reflected how the smooth flow of data from cFlow kept Platts clients ahead of the competition. We created a positioning statement and designed guidelines for their marketing materials.
